Things seen on the weekend.

Light the Night. Saturday. Cage Parade. Friday.

Here. And I am where?

I am so very fortunate to have been able to travel to NYC twice in one summer! This is madhattery with the income I have. But that is the way I have been doing everything since stumbling out into this modern world. Scared senseless about all the tiny details and blundering onward. More travel was intended this year but nothing more is on the horizon now. The slate wiped clean again. I am back in Baja regrouping, getting over a cold (thanks Dan ), buried in virtual piles office work, and trying to find new daydreams to follow through with. Move or Die echos in my under-hearing. And oh yes, you should have seen me go from zero (chills, body aches, feverish mental state) to frelling pissed off like a rutting stag at an all male review ready to gore anything that moves funny. I probably just generated a cancer in the process... but there it went.. this rage.. ripping me right out of the duuuh. And why? Well I don't know why it was so intense but I was supposed to be convalescing...

Triangular Triplet

Meanwhile-

Hormonal imbalances. Ant invasions. Spiders. Stuffy home office. Floral scented bug bomb spray. Fans blowing dust. Bookkeeping work. Theory of Everything lectures. New music. Chocolate and nuts. Barking dogs. Mopping the floors. Making brunch. Archetypes. Washing dishes. Website updates. Travel planning. Moldy bread loaves. Rotten avocados. New season preparation. Termites. Vitamins and supplements.  Slow internet. Free weights. Misty beach.  No rain. Hanging laundry out to dry.  Dueling circi. Fuzzy eyesight. Customer service. Nightly walks. Toenail fungus. Small drawings. Artistic blocks. Neuromuscular disturbances. Not enough money. Traffic. Horsemen. Mexican cable. Tap-water smells like shit. A whole string of in-jokes. Love.

Dys-ney Land

NEVER ever go to DysNey Land (or the separate you-have-to pay-even-more-to-get-in-but-it-is-right-next-door California Adventure Park. Just don't. Don't do it 'because you have kids.' that is a crap excuse. Kids wouldn't care.. if only you parents wouldn't make a big deal about it... Tell your kids they can envision a better place in their imagination and then build it in the future. This place in Anaheim is Am'r'c'n HELL. And if our bright youths can develop an actual happiest place on earth not based on the current model of Capitalism then I hope this place is burned to the ground. Even if they don't, I hope this place be destroyed. One team of 'imagineers' should not be given the power to dictate the dreams and happiness of other people (in the name of one man)- to which all the people agree and don't even know why or how they could ever agree to it.  Catholics tried this. Nazis did this. Muslims are doing this. Remember? M...

An amusing discovery

The head of Joaquin Murrieta in a jar.

Himself I have to admit, Old Town San Diego is a tourist trap worth visiting. I have been in and around what San Diego has become, but it wasn't until last week that I was at The Mission (where I couldn't help myself from humming Tori Amos snippets. See: video below.) on a high point overlooking rivers of vehicles and out to the ocean- which seemed so far with all the foreign trees growing very tall with years and the traffic flowing so loudly. What a shame they built this lovely church so close to the freeway. Ahem. And though the Basilica itself was closed, The 'birthplace of California' was welcoming tourists of all kinds down below. This little settlement was also the starting point of the Crosthwaite line in the Americas with  Phillip {The Man Himself} Crosthwaite  getting on the wrong boat and losing a bet. So for Human, he was as home as he could get without going all the way over to the UK.  I saw the names of the families on the plaques and I knew onc...
