Something new has been added

Just when I am almost getting used to the varied automotive sounds of the boulevard out front; the sound of music and advertising 'festively' blasting; the sounds of the house falling apart; the sounds of guard dogs barking at anything; the sounds dog packs fighting at any hour... I was awoken to the sound of a horse screaming. Have you ever heard a horse scream?! Gods! Talk about a night mare! The considerate owners left a sorrel horse on a long lead to graze in the lot next door. I thought they would have collected the animal at some point, but by the sound of the screaming in the wee hours, the fools had left it there and something happened to it. My Human's mom suspected that it must have wandering around in the dark and wrapped the lead about it's neck and it began to strangle. It happened once before... This time, no horse body was found in the morning so it survived whatever terror caused the ruckus.  Or the aliens took it away...

The squid skin horse on the beach- Blue Roan anywhere else

I saw a horse on this beach. It was the same color as all the colors you see in the picture accompanying this text. The horse was the whole beach itself running around and around on a lead. In the late afternoon sun the animal was shifting between rusted metal, pale smoke, misty blue sky, wet and dry sand, sloppy dark mud, visible and invisible. The Lake.  These are some pics from last summer that I found in a hard drive. There is magic in Webster, but there is also great, overpowering darkness (ignorance) so those brief moments of glamour are all the more astonishing.

Chinese New Year - More curious than usual

Intermittent rain. Endless chill. Self-portrait. Well, no wonder I's been grumpy for these passed few days! I lost the battle with the relentless 'cool' and now have the start of a sinus infection. Extra internal fighting makes one tetchier than usual. When that oddly named blizzard dumped all that snow, I was miserable to the bone- like give me a dreamy book, read aloud, wrapped, bubbled and snuggled  in bed dressings straight out of the dyer, eyes half closed, soft focused light, myopic clarity of a world shrunk to the spaces just around gently warmed and slightly aching limbs... But that isn't the focus of my post. No not at all. TIE Fighter and X-wing Included! Some assembly required. Yesterday was carnival meets sci-fi meets Chinese new year meets a 12 year old girl's birthday in Baja. I was at the computer and suddenly I am called to come quickly to see... see what?! I am not wearing my glasses! But I go out (in  my slippers even) and find the Mi
